Mark Springle
Mark has been a teacher and mentor in various disciplines including literature, writing, personal fitness, and yoga for 20 years. Through his own experience as a yoga practitioner, he recognizes the powerful, transformative gifts of a regular yoga practice. In every class, Mrk creates a safe space for his students to remove their masks in order to mine their subconscious and elemental selves. Asanas are treated as destinations on a journey to self-awareness and the breath is emphasized as the primary tool for self-discovery and self-acceptance. As the body is strengthened and purified, the mind moves towards stillness and clarity. Mark uses a holographic approach with his students, encouraging them to make their practice a form of self-communion which opens the space for each student to discover his own ability to create happiness and contentment for himself.
In addition to teaching yoga, Mark coaches integrative wellness. By employing the wisdom of the proven techniques of breath work, meditation, and positive thinking along with more contemporary disciplines such as psychology and nutrition, Mark assists his students in overcoming a variety of structures which prevent them from a deeper self-awareness. Body image, eating habits, relationship difficulties, professional frustrations, and negative patterns are all examined as Mark encourages each student to find the answer within.
Mark is honored to have been taught yoga by Sarkis Vermilyea and to have been mentored by Loren Russo. He is further indebted to his teachers Chris Buhner and Mark Linksman, in the traditions of Sri Pattabhi Jois and Tim Miller. Sri Pattabhi Jois, Tim Feldman, Kino McGregor, and Sri Dharma Mittra continue to inform and inspire Mark’s practice and teaching, as does the generous advice and encouragement of Alessana Briczkowski and Judith Cameron. |
